First breather

First sight of Sharp Edge

But first a look back at our route up and into the valley

Sharp Edge in all its glory

Those two little dots on the skyline just right of centre are people

From the top looking back

Northerly path below the crest clearly visible on the left

The two nutters decide to go down and back up ...

... while the more sensible make for the summit, with its odd trig ring and pitiful cairn

From the summit westwards to Gategill Fell ...

... but by the time we got there and looked back to Blencathra the cloud had built up

Long walk down Blease Fell, Keswick and Derwent Water in the distance ...

... then a very pleasant walk back to Scales at the foot of the fells. Three gills to cross ... will he or won't he (fall in)?

The last one is quite a steep scramble down and back up again

And finally a well earned pint or three
