Ettore Bugatti originally designed and built an electric model car for his own children. As word got round it was inevitable that he would have to make more for customers children. It was given full factory recognition as the Type 52 and had pneumatic tyres on detachable wheels, four-wheel braking and a reverse 'gear'.
