July 15th-18th 2021 - Dorset

Studland Bay, truly beautiful:

Looking across to Swanage from Ballard Hill, mist coming in from the sea. Spooky announcements coming in from boats, pointing out things the passengers couldn't see:

Ballard Hill back towards Studland, Brownsea Island, Sandbanks, Poole, Bournemouth and the Isle of Wight:

Studland beach:

Looking down to Lulworth Cove from the path across to Durdle Door. The striped fields show just how many visitors can be expected in high summer:

Man O'War beach. Two days earlier some stupid person tried to climb down the cliff - when there are steps and people were shouting at her to go back, slipped and was killed:

Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove in the background:

Bat's Head, with it's own 'door':

Bat's Head with Weymouth, Portland Bill and a number of parked-up cruise ships in Weymouth Harbour, somewhere in the murk:

T.E. Lawrence memorial in the tank viewing car park between Bovington and Clouds Hill:

"Near this spot Lawrence of Arabia crashed his motorcycle and was fatally injured on 13th May 1936"

"This tree was planted on 13th May 1983 by Mr Tom Beaumont who served with Lawrence in Arabia as his No. 1 Vickers machine gunner"

Somewhere on a track beside the road is an older memorial close to where the accident took place (too wet for us to explore):
