Originally intended for St. Paul's Cathedral, at the time there was some antipathy towards Arab states so a bust was substituted there, and the effigy placed in St. Martin's Church, which Lawrence had taken a close interest in and was instrumental in re-opening for services.

Chesil Beach from the steep Abbotsbury hill. The beach pebbles are naturally graded in size from one end to the other, and it is said that if you take a pebble from one end and move it to the other it will gradually work its way back under wave action.

Durdle Dor, the upended hard strata is left standing with the softer layers either side washed away, as well as a softer section in the centre. Eventually the 'roof' of the hole will fall in, leaving a series of pillars as can be seen elsewhere along the coast
