Telford Inn handy for the bridge, food and beer - Vee in the car park
It's a long way down. The cast plates bolted together are shaped differently. Over each pier there is a vertical join between two almost triangular pieces, then a series of trapezoids each with sides at different angles to the vertical until over the centre of a span the join is vertical again, then a series of trapezoids leaning the other way to the next pier. This must be deliberate as the effect is much more pronounced in Telford's Longdon-on-Tern Aqueduct, but I have not been able to find an explanation.
Even worse from a boat. You can see why the rental boats have raised sides at the back.
Half way up the PYG track weather seems to be clearing ...
... but at the top visibility of just a few yards (and yes that is someone wearing pink hot-pants).
After our unintended diversion we get back on 'track' ...
... to a welcome beer (or two) at the bottom.
