Public parking .. for those old enough:
Paddock:
From 'mouse' ...
... to 'monster'. Quite by chance I found this car appears at 3:46 in Dominic Chinea's You Tube on building his own Edwardian aero-engined car, filmed at Prescott:
French registered Type 59 with 'piano wire' wheels:
Type 35, so incredibly elegant:
One two ERAs, lovely deep and purposeful engine note:
1935 MG Magnette NA 1½-Litre Monoposto Racing Special. Single-seat, not immediately apparent that the body is offset slightly on the chassis:
Glorious Type 46. The story from the commentators was this car was found bodyless in the 1970s in France walled up since the Nazis occupied the country, and a very long time since deciding what body to fit and raising the money for it. The registration appears genuine as it can be found on the DVLA site described as
Bonham's has this quite extensive info on the car but makes no mention of it having been found walled up in the 70s, instead this and another were in Roland Bugatti's garage in the 50s one going to America the other to Paris, and then to England by the 1980s. Very different grille to that in the Bonham's catalogue:
Unusually for a Bugatti although there is engine-turning on the engine there doesn't appear to be any on the bulkhead:
'Turbine' wheels:
Lunch break tour up the hill, just once unfortunately:
