TSR2 fighter bomber of the 1960s, sadly canned by the Labour Government on the day before it went into production. It was state-of-the-art with much by way of electronics and printed circuit boards, some of which, as I recall, were recycled into women's dresses!


At least Concorde flew, and was a commercial success once the people that flew it took it out of the hands of the BA Board. Only retired because the French decided to cease operations, which would have put the whole of the maintenance costs onto BA which would have been unsustainable.
